Pricing by Comparison, how much?
You will find the overall cost to you is comparable to a traditional scenario but you will be receiving private instruction customized for you. Although, It does make sense to compare our custom training to what you might find in a scuba shop.

*It is important to understand that you will receive excellent training in any of Long Island's scuba shops and very often we can recommend some great ones. We are just offering an alternative.
Traditionally, scuba is taught based on levels of certification and a student enrolls in one class after another where class sizes range from 6-10 individuals. Each class costs a certain amount of money and requires several dives to practice your skills. Then you apply what you have learned on your own and you are generally not prepared to dive off your own vessel or all but the calmest waters. For someone who has set a goal and craves the adventure of learning to dive some of Long Island's features like wrecks, inlets and tidal zones, the course structure can be too regimented and there is often redundant spending when it comes to dive fees, equipment and course work.
Our approach is simplified because our training is based on a close relationship with our students. We understand your goals and help you work towards them and can plan accordingly.

What do I need to get started?
Optimally, a Long Island Diving student is going to have their own pool and their own boat that they wish to dive from. However, neither is required. Mostly all you need to get started is a real desire to explore the underwater world. We have pools available for use as well as great relationships with many of Long Island's premiere dive charters.

What equipment do I need?
Equipment is often an overlooked subject and it's purchase is not always guided with the best information. We maintain a close relationship with our students and make equipment recommendations based on the type of diving you will be doing and take precautions to keep you from having to buy anything twice. The answer is that you don't need any equipment to get started but you will know exactly why you have every piece of equipment when you are finished with your course.
